Ramparts of Galle : The gates & the walls

Though it was the Portuguese who initially built the Galle Fort using mud and palm trees, the tall and majestic ramparts we see today were built by the Dutch. These walls were built impregnably using coral and granite stones. Dulana Peiris was able to take photographs these walls and the two gates of Galle Fort using his Canon IXUS155 camera.
